Position Description
Bangor, Maine: We invite a dedicated Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with an interest in Women’s Health to join a respected outpatient primary care practice serving adults and seniors across the greater Bangor region. This outpatient role offers the opportunity to focus on comprehensive women’s health services within a fully integrated, team-based care environment.
This progressive practice is part of the state’s largest FQHC and community health center system, employing nearly 1,000 people, including more than 200 clinical providers, across 17 practice sites and service locations. The Role:
- Provide comprehensive outpatient women’s health care within an adult primary care practice
- Perform routine gynecologic exams and preventive screenings including cervical and breast cancer
- Evaluate and manage gynecologic concerns including abnormal bleeding, pelvic pain, infection, and related conditions
- Provide contraceptive counseling and management, including prescribing and device placement
- Perform procedures including IUD and contraceptive implant insertion/removal, biopsies, and colposcopy
- Educate patients on sexual health, STI prevention and treatment, and preventive care
- Collaborate closely with physicians, APPs, nurses, behavioral health professionals, and interdisciplinary care teams
- Practice in a fully integrated medical home with embedded behavioral health, recovery services, gynecology support, and minor office procedures
- Full-time schedule (40 hours), Monday through Friday, with a four-day option for work/life balance
